When I discovered the opportunity to test Souke performance bib shorts, I didn’t miss the chance. Souke is a really interesting Chinese brand that produces cycling apparel.
I’m a road cyclist who covers approximately 10,000 kilometers a year without racing. I’ve been riding for about 6 years and since then I’ve tried many different apparel brands, from the most exclusive to the more reasonable ones. I’ve always prioritized chamois comfort in my choices.
At first glance, I was very impressed by the quality of Souke’s performance bib shorts. I have never seen a fabric softer than this one. The stitching is well done and the chamois has a good density.
I chose the light gray color and I love it, I also really like the logo on the side.
Based on my body measurements, we decided to opt for a size S, which fits perfectly. For reference, I am 161 cm tall and weigh 49 kg.
Once on, they are really comfortable and provide gentle compression without feeling overly tight. The length is slightly shorter than the bib shorts I usually wear (by about 1 centimeter) so they are perfect for summer.
I tested the bib shorts on 3 rides from 60 to 100 kilometers each, both on flat terrain and climbs, on hot summer days. The first thing I noticed is that the fabric is very lightweight and breathable, so despite the light color, no sweat stains were left on the bib shorts. The straps have just the right tension and didn’t cause any discomfort on my shoulders.The chamois is really comfortable: I am quite sensitive in that area and if it isn’t padded enough, it can cause me several issues. That was not the case here, as I didn’t have any problems during my rides. The fabric of the bib shorts is so soft that I didn’t experience any rubbing against skin. After several machine washes at 20 degrees with a low spin cycle, the bib shorts stayed in perfect condition.
In conclusion, I really appreciate this brand for its remarkable quality at truly reasonable prices. If you want high-performance and comfortable bib shorts, these are perfect. I also love the design and I’m very curious to see their future collections.
